I had been knowing Comedian Cool TLC for well over 20 years and had seen plenty of his shows, but this show was special.  It was special because I had not seen TLC in about four years and when we reconnected, I learned that he was completely blind.  I was shocked, but as I talked to him, my shock turned into even more admiration for him.  TLC had gone blind from diabetes and he was in acceptance with his condition and to find that he still was doing his standup made me have a whole new level of respect for him.

We talked on the phone a few times and most recently he sent me a text inviting me to his Benefit Comedy show at the East Cleveland Library.  I told him I would be there snapping pix and his response “wow thx”.  I really looked forward to doing this show because I wanted to support him as he has always supported me over the years.

I attended the show which was a full house and he certainly has not lost his touch!  The crowd loved him and so did I.  The plus of the show is that he did give diabetes awareness in a way that had the crowd holding on to his every word.  He was still the TLC that I remembered when it came to his material and I could not have been more proud.  I spoke to him a few days after the show to tell him how much I enjoyed the show and he was thrilled that I was in attendance.

Thank you TLC for letting me enjoy your experience with you, it was certainly an honor and I can’t wait to see you in action again!
